We love the old Hawaii feeling we got at this resort..very laid back and pleasant..the location was ideal and it was extremely beautiful there..the proximity to everything we were looking for was wonderful..the breeze off the ocean made for pleasant sleeping and it was wonderful to have everything wide open during our whole stay..the staff was extremely helpful as well as the concierge..we will definitely return to Maii and to Sands of Kahana..Aloha

This is a nice family resort with a nice pool and beach access. With the exception of the rooms needing some updating and upkeep. Everything was ok. The restaurant at the beach was very good.
We had a great time. The staff was very attentive and responded to our issues in a timely manner. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay during our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration trip to Hawaii. We would return to enjoy the resort again.
We travel a-lot and stay in some very attractive lodging in scenic places; but this will be the one I remember most fondly. Our oceanfront, 2 bedroom on the second floor of building 2 was everything you could want; sound of surf, beautiful sunsets, large kitchen, open concept, storage you can only dream of— truly a peak experience!
We hope to return.
Captain Jack's Island Grill
Captain Jacks is a great spot on the beach. Happy hour for drinks, great food we ordered at table or sit at the bar. You can easily go from here to the beach, watch the sunset or stay longer
Captain Jack’s Island Grill opened at 672 Front Street in 2010 as a local watering hole and pirate themed family friendly restaurant. Located in historic LahainaTown and adjacent to their sister restaurant, Cool Cat Cafe, Captain Jack’s quickly became a favorite among travelers and locals alike. Tragically, on August 8, 2023 our iconic and idyllic life changed forever when Lahaina town was lost in a fire that devastated our community. Captain Jack’s Island Grill has found a new home at The Sands of Kahana Resort and is pleased to still be located on the Westside of the Island.
